Illegal Immigrants in the USA.

Donald Trump’s talk about illegal immigrants from Mexico seems to be upsetting even the legal immigrants from Mexico.  One wonders why.  I am a legal immigrant from India.  I would not be supportive of illegal immigrants from India.

A little deeper look seems to reinforce Trump’s concern.  In October 2009, Los Angeles Times published:

• 40% workers in LA County (10.2 million population) were illegal, work for cash, not paying taxes;
• 95%  of warrants for murder in Los Angeles were for illegal immigrants;
• 75% of the persons on the most wanted list in LA were illegal immigrants;
• Over 2/3^rd of all births in LA County were to illegal immigrants from Mexico, on MEDI-CAL expense paid by the taxpayers;
• Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers were illegal immigrants from Mexico;
• Nearly half of all gang members in LA were illegal immigrants from Mexico (Source: FBI);
• In LA County, 5.1 million people spoke English and 3.9 million people spoke Spanish (not caring to learn English?)
• 29% of those illegal immigrants were on welfare.

Since the publication of the above facts in 2009, the situation is worse.  Regardless whether these statistics are correct or not, even one illegal immigrant is one too many.  It raises some serious questions:  Where is our government?  Where is the accountability?  Is democracy an easy cover to escape responsibility? Should Trump be accused of or praised for bringing the issue of illegal immigrants to the forefront?
