Political Blame Game

T.S. Khanna, Jan., 26, 2012.

Political systems are flawed where only eloquence can lead to power. In Germany, Hitler gained power by eloquently abusing the freedom of speech in falsely blaming the minority of Jews for economic failures. Aggression of the gullible Germans was directed against Jews with impunity.

Our incompetent leaders only master the art of sophistry and eloquence.. They are in power by eloquently made false promises. Due to the absence of accountability requirements in our political system, public officials do not feel obligated to fulfill the promises. To stay in power, their blame game is similar to “Hitlerian” technique; pick a small minority of wealthy people and shift the blame of economic failures on them.

According to the public knowledge, unemployment is 8.5%; 47% of the people pay no federal tax; top 1% pay 40% of the total tax revenue; top 2% pay 50%; top 5% pay 62%; and, top 10% pay 70% of the total revenue. The top 10%, with suitable incentives, can very well finance risky capital intensive projects that can create more jobs for those 47% paying no taxes, thereby, enhance the tax base.

More money with private sector produces more wealth producing jobs; more money with government produces more wealth consuming bureaucrats or additional salaries/perks for the already overpaid public officials.

The gullible supporters of each party are told what they want to hear to lock in their support, not what they need to know for their own good.

The real solution lies in a) bringing back the out-sourced jobs by competitive wages and quality production, b) luring back the corporations by competitive taxation rates, and c) implementing the recommendations of Simpson-Bowels Commission Report in opposition to both parties.
