Muslims v/s Non-Muslims
By T.S. Khanna, June 12, 2016
Fifty dead, fifty three injured by a 29 year old radical Muslim in
Orlando is the latest in a series of Paris, Brussels, and San Bernardine killings
of innocent people by radical Muslims.
The number of radical Muslims and their organizations has grown rapidly in Europe and the USA mainly because
democracies provide built in safe steps for the radicals to grow: freedom of
conspiracy speech and exchange of messages, no governmental powers to check the
incompatibility of various religious philosophies and their teachings in their respective
religious institutions, easy availability of arms and ammunition, and,
complacency and insufficient accountability in governmental operations.
The foremost responsibility of democracies is to engage in an
unprecedented endeavor to spark collaboration of Muslim religious leaders with
non-Muslims. But this responsibility is
ignored under the euphoria of high democratic principles, regardless of their
adverse effects in encouraging terrorism.
As pointed out by some Muslim scholars, the roots of Muslim radicalism
lie in their scriptures that incite, inspire, or command violence against
non-Muslims. Government must not
hesitate in exposing such messages of the scriptures.
Democratic governments are strongly urged to
- Start examining critically the scriptures
of all religions and not allow the teachings embedded in hatred and violence
against other religions;
- Restrict the availability of arms and
ammunition only to responsible adult citizens born in the country;
- Disallow the abuse of the freedom of
speech.
